The Nile
The river runs past the village as a broad, calm band. It is the dominant feature of the poster and the source of all the green around it.

Mapa
Al Başalīyah Baḩrī Map Poster & Print
Al Başalīyah Baḩrī lies in the Nile valley in Aswan Governorate, where the cultivated land is just a thin band along the river. From above, the map is made of long parallel strips. The river runs along one edge, then comes a belt of fields and settlement, and beyond it lies open desert.
The village's houses are packed closely together, with narrow lanes between them. Around them are small irrigated fields separated by canals and paths. A Al Başalīyah Baḩrī map poster shows how everything here is organised around water, with the density of life ending sharply where the irrigation stops.
The name Baḩrī means northern, marking this as the northern of the Başalīyah settlements. Roads and a railway run along the valley parallel to the river, linking the villages of Upper Egypt. On a wider map, these long lines emphasise the direction of the valley, stretching from south to north.

Narrow farmland belt
Irrigated fields form a thin strip between river and desert. Canals and paths divide them into small, orderly plots.
Desert edge
Cultivation ends abruptly in open sand. In black and white, that line becomes a strong horizontal boundary across the print.
