The seven hills
The hills around Guaranda break the city into lobes and pockets. On the map, built-up areas stop sharply at their slopes, and the gaps give the whole outline its uneven shape.

Guaranda Map Poster & Print
Guaranda is the capital of Bolívar province and sits high in the central Andes of Ecuador, at roughly 2,600 metres. Ecuadorians often call it the city of seven hills, and the map shows why. The town does not spread across a flat valley floor. It fits into the gaps between rounded summits, so its outline is irregular and pinched.
At the centre, a tighter grid of colonial-era blocks marks the old town, arranged around its main square. Beyond that core the pattern loosens. Streets follow contour lines, switch back up hillsides and stop where the ground gets too steep. Green space on the map is mostly the hills themselves, not planned parks.
A Guaranda map poster records a highland town shaped more by terrain than by planning. The city is known across the country for its Carnival, one of the best-known celebrations of its kind in Ecuador, and the snow-capped mass of Chimborazo rises not far to the northeast. On paper, all of that comes down to a small, dense core wrapped in contour-bound streets.

Colonial core
The historic centre forms the most regular part of the plan, a small grid of blocks around the main square that stands out from the winding streets on the hillsides around it.
Roads out of the valley
Roads leave the city along the valleys between the hills. Seen from above, they are the few long, continuous lines in a plan made mostly of short, curving segments.

Dlaczego Guaranda
Mapa, która coś znaczy
People who grew up in Guaranda, or who came for Carnival and stayed longer than planned, tend to remember the town through its hills. A map poster keeps that geography in view: the square, the slopes, and the streets climbing between them.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to mark a family home, a wedding or a year spent in the highlands. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
