Ribbon roads
Houses line the main roads in long, narrow bands, so the shape of Saint Pierre is drawn largely by the routes that pass through it.

Saint Pierre Map Poster & Print
Saint Pierre lies in the Moka district of Mauritius, inland from Port Louis on the rising ground that leads toward the central plateau. The settlement is spread out rather than concentrated, with houses lining the main roads and small clusters of streets branching off between cultivated land. From above, the pattern is one of ribbons and pockets rather than a single, clearly defined centre.
The surrounding land has long been used for sugar cane, and the map records that in the long, open parcels separating one group of streets from the next. Rising to the north is the Moka Range, the mountains that include Le Pouce and Pieter Both, whose steep slopes stay largely unbuilt and read as clean white space on a monochrome print.
A Saint Pierre map poster captures a side of Mauritius that visitors on the coast rarely see: the working interior of the island, with roads linking villages across farmland toward Moka and the capital. The irregular spread of houses along those routes gives the print a relaxed, organic look quite unlike the grid of a planned town.

Cane field parcels
Broad stretches of agricultural land separate the built-up clusters, appearing as calm open areas that give the map its airy, unhurried rhythm.
Moka Range
The mountains to the north frame the village with steep, unbuilt slopes, a reminder of the dramatic volcanic landscape that surrounds this part of the island.
