The palm grove
Irrigated gardens and palm groves fill the valley floor in a long band of tiny plots and channels, which creates the densest texture on the map.

Tinghir Map Poster & Print
Tinghir lies in south-eastern Morocco, between the High Atlas to the north and the Jbel Saghro range to the south. The town follows the valley of the Todra river, and its defining feature is the oasis. A continuous belt of palm groves and irrigated gardens runs along the valley floor, and the built-up areas sit on the drier ground just above it.
Along the edge of the palm grove stand older ksour, fortified earthen villages whose compact, walled forms are still visible among the newer concrete districts. A short drive north, the valley narrows into the Todra Gorge, whose steep limestone walls draw climbers and travellers from around the world. On the map the gorge appears as a thin line running into the mountains.
A Tinghir map poster turns this geography into a clear composition. The green ribbon of the oasis becomes a dense field of small plots, the town lines it on both sides, and roads lead out toward the gorge and across the desert plateau. It is a strong choice for anyone who has walked through the palm groves or travelled the road of the kasbahs.

Earthen ksour
Traditional walled villages sit along the edge of the oasis. Their tight, rectangular footprints stand apart from the more open layout of modern Tinghir.
Toward the gorge
North of the town the valley narrows into the Todra Gorge, a thin passage between cliffs that leads the eye from the oasis up into the mountains.

Dlaczego Tinghir
Mapa, która coś znaczy
Travellers often come back from southern Morocco with photographs of the gorge. A map adds the context those images miss by showing how the town, the oasis and the mountains fit together along one valley.
Add a title, a subtitle naming the trip and the dates you were there. Sand suits the desert palette well, though all five styles are available. Order a printed poster from partners in 30+ countries, or download the HD PNG and PDF files for $9.
