Abepura is one of the districts of Jayapura, the capital of Papua province in Indonesia. It lies inland from the city centre, between the hills and the waters of Youtefa Bay. From above, the district is shaped by terrain: roads follow valleys and ridges, and the built-up areas fill the flatter ground while the steeper slopes stay green.
Abepura is home to Cenderawasih University, the main public university of Papua, and its campus is one of the larger planned areas in the district. The main road linking Jayapura with Sentani and its airport passes through, and much of the district's activity gathers along that corridor with neighbourhoods branching off into the hills.
