Aïn Harrouda lies on the northeastern edge of greater Casablanca, on the stretch of land toward Mohammedia. From above it is a town in the middle of growth. Newer housing developments sit next to older, looser settlements, and large transport routes — motorways and rail lines — cut across the area on long, straight paths.
Its position between two major Atlantic cities defines its character. Much of the town's recent development is linked to the expansion of the Casablanca metropolitan area, and many residents commute to the larger cities. The Atlantic coast is close by, and the land between the town and the ocean is flat and open.
