Akwanga is a town in Nasarawa State in central Nigeria, and the headquarters of the local government area of the same name. It lies on the main road toward the Jos Plateau, in a landscape where the land begins to rise and the terrain becomes more rolling and rocky.
From above, the town grows along its main roads, with a denser commercial area near the centre and residential streets spreading outward in an irregular pattern.
