Baía Farta lies on the Atlantic coast of Benguela Province in Angola, a short distance south of the city of Benguela. As the name suggests, it is built around a bay, and the map is shaped by that curve. The shoreline arcs around sheltered water, and the town's streets follow the coast and spread back onto the dry, low ground behind it.
The town is closely tied to the sea. Fishing is central to local life, the waterfront is lined with landing areas and small boats, and fish is processed and dried along the shore.
