River Leen

Basford lies north-west of central Nottingham, in the valley of the River Leen. Its street pattern shows the district's past as an industrial suburb. Rows of terraced houses run in long parallel lines, and among them sit larger plots where mills, works and a brewery once stood. Today the Nottingham Express Transit tram runs through Basford on its way between the city and Hucknall, following an old rail alignment.
