Boardman is a township in Mahoning County, Ohio, just south of Youngstown. It takes its name from Elijah Boardman, a landowner from Connecticut who acquired land in the Western Reserve in the early nineteenth century. Today it is one of the largest suburban communities in the Mahoning Valley, with a mix of residential neighbourhoods and shopping areas.
The busiest part of Boardman is the US Route 224 corridor, lined with stores, restaurants and the Southern Park Mall, which forms the commercial spine of the township. To the north, the wooded valley of Mill Creek Park, one of the region's largest parks, runs along the edge of the township and adds long green curves to the map.
