Borzya is in Zabaykalsky Krai, in the far southeast of Siberia, on the Daurian steppe near the borders with China and Mongolia. The landscape around it is open grassland: rolling, mostly treeless and extending in every direction. The railway is the reason for the town's shape. Borzya is a junction on the line that runs from the Trans-Siberian toward the Chinese border crossing at Zabaykalsk.
