Canyon Lake Map Poster & Print
Canyon Lake is a community in Comal County, spread around the reservoir of the same name on the Guadalupe River, north of New Braunfels. The lake dominates the map: a large area of water with long arms and irregular coves, and a dam at its southeastern end. Settlement surrounds it in scattered clusters rather than a single centre.
Streets follow the terrain of the Hill Country, winding along the shore, climbing ridges and ending in cul-de-sacs with views of the water. The pattern is loose and organic, and the map is full of curves. Below the dam, the Guadalupe continues towards New Braunfels, a river popular for tubing and fishing.
A Canyon Lake map poster also shows the area below the dam where, after a flood in 2002, overflowing water carved the Canyon Lake Gorge, exposing limestone layers, dinosaur tracks and fossils. It is now a site for guided walks, and a reminder of how water shaped this landscape.
