Central Map Poster & Print
Central is a city in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, just northeast of Baton Rouge. It was incorporated in 2005, making it one of the state's newest cities, largely so residents could run their own school system. On a map it looks like much of the suburban South: long rural roads with subdivisions branching off them.
The Comite River winds through the area, bordered by wooded floodplain, and the Amite River runs along its eastern side. These waterways shape where streets can go. Cul-de-sacs and loops fill the higher ground, while patches of forest and pasture remain between the neighbourhoods.
