Chāndur is a town in eastern Maharashtra, in the Vidarbha region, where the Deccan plateau flattens into wide agricultural plains. From above, it is a compact, irregular settlement. Its lanes are packed closely together in the older centre and loosen toward the edges, where the fields begin. Roads lead out in several directions toward neighbouring villages and the larger towns of the region.
