Changlong is a town in the Chongqing municipality, in the hilly country on the eastern side of the Sichuan Basin. The landscape here is shaped by long ridges running roughly northeast to southwest, with broad valleys between them. On a map these ridges set the direction for almost everything else, including roads, streams and the outline of the built-up area.
