Daitō Map Poster & Print
Daitō is part of the continuous urban area east of Osaka. From above, its western side is almost entirely built up, a fine-grained mesh of houses, small factories and narrow streets typical of the Kawachi plain. To the east the pattern changes abruptly: the land climbs into the Ikoma hills, and the streets stop where the forest begins.
The JR Gakkentoshi Line crosses the city, with stations such as Suminodō and Nozaki linking residents to central Osaka in a short ride. Nozaki is also known for Jigen-ji, a Kannon temple on the hillside whose spring pilgrimage, Nozaki mairi, has been part of local tradition for centuries and appears in bunraku and kabuki.

Gakkentoshi Line
The railway crosses the city on its way into Osaka, with stations spaced along it. It forms one of the few long straight lines in an otherwise intricate street grid.
