Dohazāri lies in Chittagong district in southeastern Bangladesh, on the banks of the Sangu River. The river bends through the area in wide curves, and the town has grown up along it and along the roads and railway that meet here. From above, the settlement follows the flat, green delta landscape, with hills rising to the east toward the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
For decades Dohazāri was known as the terminus of the railway line running south from Chittagong. The tracks stopped here, and so the town became a meeting point for rail and road traffic. The line has since been extended south toward Cox's Bazar, but the railway remains central to the town's identity and to its shape on a map.

Railway line
The railway approaches from the north and continues south. It cuts a straight, deliberate stroke through the flat ground and marks Dohazāri's role as a transport point.

Level, cultivated land surrounds the town, and higher ground rises to the east. A wider framing captures the edge where the lowland plain meets the hills.
