Erdaojiang is a district of Tonghua city in southern Jilin Province, northeastern China. The area lies among the forested hills that rise toward the Changbai Mountains, and from above the urban area appears stretched along a valley, with streets squeezed between slopes and following the course of the river through the city.
This setting gives the map an elongated, linear shape. Main roads run parallel to the river, with shorter streets climbing a little way up the valley sides before the terrain takes over. Rail lines thread through the same corridor, as they do across much of this mountainous part of Jilin, connecting Tonghua with the rest of the region.
