Glenville is a neighbourhood on the east side of Cleveland, running from University Circle toward Lake Erie. On a map it reads as a grid of long residential streets lined with large older houses, crossed by main avenues and bordered on the west by the curving parkland along Doan Brook.
The neighbourhood has a strong cultural history. In the 1930s, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster created Superman while living here as students at Glenville High School, and Siegel's former house is marked today.
