Guildford Map Poster & Print
Guildford grew where the River Wey cuts through the North Downs, and that gap shapes the whole town. The river runs north–south through the centre. The historic High Street climbs steeply up from it to the east, and roads fan out through the valley toward London, Portsmouth and the surrounding villages. The town centre is compact, with an inner gyratory road wrapped around it.
The cobbled High Street, with its projecting town clock, is the town's best-known image. Nearby are the ruins of Guildford Castle, built after the Norman conquest. To the northwest, the brick cathedral stands on Stag Hill, with the University of Surrey next to it. Lewis Carroll spent time in Guildford, and he is buried in the town.
A Guildford map poster shows a market town shaped by its terrain: a river corridor, a street climbing the valley side and open downland beyond. In black and white the Wey is a clear vertical line and the older streets form a dense cluster beside it. It makes a considered gift for alumni, residents and Surrey commuters.

High Street
The historic main street climbs east from the river. On the map it forms the backbone of the old centre, with lanes and yards branching off it.
Stag Hill
The cathedral and the university campus sit on this rise northwest of the centre. Their open grounds and curving paths stand apart from the town streets.
