Valley setting
The city fills the flat floor of a river valley. Its streets stretch along the water instead of spreading in every direction, which gives the map a clear, elongated form.

Hailin Map Poster & Print
Hailin lies in south-eastern Heilongjiang, in a region of low mountains and forest west of Mudanjiang. The city occupies a river valley, and from above its layout follows the flat ground: a denser centre along the water and the rail corridor, with residential blocks thinning out towards the wooded slopes that close off the view on either side.
The county-level city is known across China for its snowy winters. Its administrative area includes Snow Town, a mountain village that attracts winter visitors for its deep, rounded snowdrifts on rooftops. The surrounding forests and the region’s history also feature in well-known Chinese stories of the northeast.
A Hailin map poster suits the scale of a mid-sized northern city. The river curves through the frame and the railway runs alongside it, while the neat blocks of the centre give way to hills. The composition is mostly empty space and a few confident lines, which fits a place defined by long winters and wide landscapes.

River and rail
The river and the railway run through the city side by side. They form the two main lines the rest of the street pattern is organised around.
Forested hills
Wooded hills surround the urban area, so the built-up city appears as a compact shape set in a large, quiet landscape.

For people from Hailin who now live in Harbin, Beijing or overseas, a map is a restrained reminder of home. The design is simple enough for a modern room and still personal.
Write the title in the language you prefer, add a subtitle or date, and set the coordinates line. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Noir works well for a city known for winter nights.
