Happy Valley lies southeast of Portland in Clackamas County, Oregon, and its map is shaped by terrain. The city spreads across a valley and up the slopes of several forested buttes, the remnants of the old Boring Lava Field, which give the area its rolling, hilly profile and influence nearly every road.
