Hotaka Map Poster & Print
Hotaka lies in the Azumino basin in Nagano Prefecture, and it is now part of the city of Azumino. The map shows a scattered pattern of streets and settlements across a flat, cultivated plain, with the steep slopes of the Northern Alps rising sharply to the west.
The area is known for its clear spring water. Streams and irrigation channels cross the fields, and the Daiō Wasabi Farm, one of Japan's largest wasabi farms, is a popular destination. Hotaka Shrine, dedicated to a deity of the Alps, sits near the station at the centre of town.
A Hotaka map poster captures a landscape shaped by water and mountains. The fine lines of the channels, the fields and the scattered roads create a delicate, open texture, while the edge of the mountains gives the composition weight on one side. It is a quiet, subtle map that suits a calm interior.

Station and shrine
The area around Hotaka Station and the shrine forms the densest cluster of streets. It anchors the otherwise open composition.
Alpine edge
To the west, the road network stops where the Northern Alps begin, and the sudden emptiness marks the mountain wall clearly.
