Huicheng is the urban centre of Huilai County in the Chaoshan area of eastern Guangdong. On the map, a compact core of narrow lanes and small blocks is surrounded by wider modern roads that push out into the flat land nearby. Waterways and drainage channels cross the plain, and the gaps between built-up areas show farmland that is gradually being filled in.
