Indian Trail is a town in Union County, North Carolina, south-east of Charlotte. It grew quickly from a small railway settlement into a large suburban community, and its map shows that clearly. A small older core sits beside the railway line, while most of the town is made up of planned subdivisions with curving streets and cul-de-sacs.
The main roads organise the whole picture. The highway between Charlotte and Monroe runs through the town, and a network of secondary roads links the neighbourhoods to it.
