Inkhil is a town in the Daraa Governorate of southern Syria, on the broad volcanic plain known as the Hauran. From above, the landscape is flat and agricultural, and the town appears as a concentrated patch of streets surrounded by fields that stretch in every direction toward neighbouring villages.
The street pattern is dense at the centre, where older houses sit close together, and becomes looser toward the edges as newer building spreads along the roads leading out of town. Those roads radiate outward like spokes, connecting Inkhil with the surrounding settlements of the plain, and they give the map its main structure.
