Izobil’nyy is a town in the north-west of Stavropol Krai in southern Russia, set in open steppe country that has long been farmed. Its map is laid out in a clear rectilinear pattern, with long straight streets and rectangular blocks of low-rise houses and gardens.
A railway line crosses the town, and the main roads extend outward toward neighbouring settlements across a landscape of large, regular fields. Small rivers and ponds break up the grid in a few places, adding softer shapes to an otherwise very orderly plan.
