Kagaznāgār lies in northern Telangana, in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district, close to the border with Maharashtra. The name means paper town, after the paper mill that shaped its growth, and the map still reflects that origin. The industrial complex sits to one side, planned residential colonies lie nearby, and older streets gather around a busier market area.
The main railway line between Kazipet and Balharshah passes through the town, drawing a firm line across the map and dividing neighbourhoods on either side. Roads lead out to the surrounding villages. Beyond them the land opens into farmland, rivers and forested hills, part of the green belt that covers much of this district.
