Kagoro lies in the south of Kaduna State, in Nigeria's Middle Belt. From above, the town spreads across a rolling upland, and the Kagoro Hills with their rocky outcrops rise at its edge. Main roads link it to nearby towns in the region.
The street pattern is mostly informal. Compounds and houses are clustered along roads and paths, and the gaps between them are filled with farmland. Streams run down from the hills and cut shallow lines through the landscape.
