Kibaha is the administrative capital of Pwani Region in Tanzania, west of Dar es Salaam on the main highway toward Morogoro. On a map, that highway is the town's backbone, a long straight line with neighbourhoods branching off on either side. The land is low and gently rolling, with farms, scrub and scattered woodland between the built-up areas.
Because it lies so close to Dar es Salaam, Kibaha has grown quickly as people and businesses move out from the city. The map shows this clearly. Planned streets near the centre give way to looser, informal roads in newer areas, where plots and paths spread into what was farmland. It is a town still taking shape, with open space around its edges.
