Killarney lies on the western side of New Providence, the Bahamian island that is home to Nassau. It is a mainly residential area, away from the dense streets of downtown Nassau. The district takes its name from Lake Killarney, a broad inland lake in western New Providence that is one of the largest freshwater and brackish bodies on the island.
