Lognes is a commune in Seine-et-Marne, east of Paris, and part of the new town of Marne-la-Vallée, developed from the 1970s onward. Its layout reflects that planning era. Curving roads, residential clusters and cul-de-sacs are arranged around green spaces and ponds rather than an old village grid. The RER A line crosses the commune and links it directly to central Paris.
Water and greenery are prominent on the map. A series of ponds and parkland corridors runs through the town, separating neighbourhoods and giving the layout a relaxed, open feel.
