Mauldin is in Greenville County in South Carolina's Upstate, just southeast of Greenville. From above, it is clearly a modern suburb. Curving residential streets and cul-de-sacs fill the land between a few main roads, and an interstate spur runs through the city. There is little of a traditional grid, just neighbourhoods connected by arterials.
