Mojuí dos Campos is in western Pará, on the higher ground south of Santarém and the Tapajós. It became a separate municipality recently, after being split from Santarém. On the map, the urban area is a small, clear grid of streets set in a much wider landscape of fields, remnant forest and rural roads.
The surrounding land is dominated by agriculture, and the field boundaries and access roads form their own large geometric pattern around the town. Streams and strips of forest follow the low ground and add softer, irregular lines. At poster scale, the town looks like a compact settlement in the middle of a rural patchwork.
