Glasshouses cover large rectangular plots around the town. On the poster they create a grid of long, parallel shapes that resembles a woven fabric.

Naaldwijk Map Poster & Print
Naaldwijk is the main town of the Westland, the horticultural area between The Hague, Rotterdam and the North Sea coast. From above, the landscape is remarkable. The old centre, with its church and market square, sits inside a very large expanse of greenhouses, laid out in long rectangles that cover nearly every piece of open land.
The Westland is one of the most intensive greenhouse regions in the world, growing vegetables, flowers and plants for export. Between the glasshouses, drainage ditches and narrow roads run in straight lines, and they give the whole area a strict, repeated geometry.
A Naaldwijk map poster makes the most of that contrast. The old town's irregular streets sit in the middle, while the rectangular greenhouse blocks, roads and waterways fill the land around it. The result is part town map, part abstract pattern, and it looks striking in any of the five styles.

Historic centre
The old core around the church and market has streets that curve and cross at irregular angles. It stands out clearly from the straight lines around it.
Drainage ditches
Narrow waterways follow the edges of the plots, as they do throughout the Dutch polders. They add fine, parallel lines across the whole map.

Naaldwijk speaks to anyone with ties to the Westland: growers, their families and those who grew up among the greenhouses. The strong geometry also makes it a distinctive print for a modern interior.
