Nithari lies in the northwestern part of Delhi, among the fast-growing districts beyond the older city. Like many places in this part of the capital, it began as a village and was gradually absorbed by the expanding city. Traces of its original layout survive inside a much larger urban fabric.
From above, the area is a close mesh of narrow lanes, small plots and buildings packed tightly together. Wider roads mark its edges and connect it to neighbouring colonies, markets and the main routes toward central Delhi and the outer districts. There is little open space, and the street pattern is intricate, not planned.
