Northolt is a suburb in the London Borough of Ealing, on the western side of the city. From above it is a characteristic outer-London mix of interwar semi-detached streets, crescents and closes, arranged around a small historic village green and parish church that predate most of the surrounding housing.
Several large features give Northolt a strong outline on the map. The A40 Western Avenue cuts across it as a wide arterial road, RAF Northolt occupies a broad expanse to the west, and the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal curves through the area as a narrow line of water between residential streets and green space.
A Northolt map poster also shows Northala Fields, a park beside the A40 where four conical mounds were built from spoil including material from the old Wembley Stadium.
