Seen from above, Nūzvīd has a tight core of lanes and small blocks, the kind of pattern that grows over centuries, not from a plan. Roads leave the centre toward neighbouring towns, and around the built-up area the map opens into wide agricultural land. Tanks and water bodies appear as scattered shapes, common in the landscape of coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Nūzvīd is best known for its mangoes. The orchards around the town are among the most famous in Andhra Pradesh, and its fruit is sold far beyond the region. The town was also a seat of local zamindars, and it is home to a campus of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, known as IIIT Nuzvid.
