Offa lies in the south of Kwara State, in the Yoruba-speaking part of north-central Nigeria. On a map, the town has the typical form of an older Yoruba settlement: a dense core of irregular streets around the traditional centre, surrounded by newer neighbourhoods laid out in more regular blocks as the town has grown outward.
