Havel and canals
The Havel and its connecting canals divide the town into separate pieces of land, giving the map a network of narrow water channels and small bridges that is easy to follow in black and white.

Oranienburg Map Poster & Print
Seen from above, Oranienburg is shaped by water. The Havel runs through the town from north to south, and canals and lakes branch away from it, so the streets have to bend around channels and cross them on short bridges. The historic core sits close to the river, and newer districts spread outward in looser blocks toward the surrounding woodland.
The town takes its name from Oranienburg Palace, a baroque residence built for Louise Henriette of Orange-Nassau, the wife of the Great Elector of Brandenburg. On a map the palace and its garden stand out as a large ordered rectangle beside the river, a formal geometry that differs from the more irregular pattern of the residential streets around it.
Oranienburg is also the site of the Sachsenhausen memorial, one of the most important places of remembrance in Germany. A Oranienburg map poster keeps all of these layers in one frame: the palace grounds, the river and canals, the rail line running south toward Berlin, and the forest edge that surrounds the town on almost every side.

Palace and gardens
Oranienburg Palace and its gardens form a large, regular block beside the river, the clearest piece of planned baroque geometry in the town plan.
Forest edge
Pine forest and lakes surround the built-up area, so the streets stop at soft green margins and the town appears as a compact island of lines inside open space.
