Oshmyany lies in Grodno Region, in northwestern Belarus, close to the border with Lithuania and not far from Vilnius. The Oshmyanka River winds through the town, and on the map its bends shape the old streets. The center has a compact layout, with the main roads radiating outward in several directions.
