Ozark is the county seat of Christian County in southwest Missouri, just south of Springfield. The Finley River runs through the town, and from above it draws a winding line through the older part of Ozark. The historic centre, with its courthouse square, sits close to the river, while newer neighbourhoods have spread outward across the rolling Ozarks landscape.
US Highway 65 passes along the east side of town, and much of Ozark's recent growth is organised around it. Suburban streets with curving cul-de-sacs sit next to older straight blocks, showing different eras of development on the same map. Green spaces follow the river, including the park around the historic Ozark Mill site.
