Pantelimon lies just east of Bucharest, in Ilfov County, where the capital's growth meets the flat Wallachian plain. The map shows a place in transition. Older village streets and household plots sit beside new residential developments with neat grids of houses and apartment blocks, many of them built in recent decades.
