Pierrefonds-Roxboro takes up much of the north-western edge of the island of Montreal. Its northern boundary is the Rivière des Prairies, with Laval on the far bank. From above, the borough is a long band of residential streets. Loops, crescents and cul-de-sacs typical of postwar suburbs spread between the river and the main east–west boulevards.
At the western end, the land reaches Lac des Deux Montagnes at Cap-Saint-Jacques, one of the largest nature parks on the island. Toward the east, the Bois-de-Liesse park follows streams and woods.
