Roosevelt is an unincorporated hamlet in the Town of Hempstead on Long Island's south shore, in Nassau County. From above, it is a dense residential grid of small lots and mostly straight streets. The main roads that cross it are busier and wider, and they carry traffic toward Freeport, Hempstead and the other communities that surround it on all sides.
