Scottsdale Map Poster & Print
Scottsdale runs north to south for many miles alongside Phoenix. It is a narrow city shaped by the regular mile-square grid of arterial roads common across the Salt River Valley. Within that framework, curving residential streets, golf courses and resort grounds create softer patterns, and the Arizona Canal crosses the city on a long diagonal.
Its most unusual feature is the Indian Bend Wash, a chain of parks, lakes and paths along a natural flood channel that runs through the city in place of a concrete ditch. Old Town Scottsdale keeps a compact downtown grid. To the north-east, the McDowell Mountains mark the edge of the desert preserve, and Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West is nearby.
A Scottsdale map poster captures the tension between order and desert: the strict grid, the green ribbon of the wash and the open, undeveloped land toward the mountains. It suits residents, winter visitors and anyone who has fallen for the Sonoran landscape and the clean lines of a planned western city.

Mile grid
Major roads are spaced a regular mile apart, dividing Scottsdale into large squares. Curving neighbourhood streets, golf fairways and resort landscapes fill each one.
McDowell Mountains
To the north-east, the streets thin out against the McDowell Mountains and the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Here the map becomes largely empty desert terrain.
