Shilong is a town in Chongqing Municipality in southwestern China, in the hilly country that surrounds the main urban area. The landscape here is uneven, with ridges, valleys and slopes, and the town's streets follow the terrain rather than forming a regular grid. From above, the built-up area is compact and irregular, set among green hills.
As in much of rural Chongqing, farmland fills the valleys and climbs the slopes in terraces, with scattered villages and houses connected by narrow roads. Small rivers and streams run along the valley floors, and newer roads cut across the hills to link the town with nearby districts and the city.
