Shorewood is a village in Will County, Illinois, on the western edge of the Joliet area. The DuPage River winds through it from north to south, and on a map its looping course and wooded banks form the clearest natural line in an otherwise suburban landscape. Most of the village consists of residential subdivisions from recent decades.
