Statesboro is the seat of Bulloch County in southeast Georgia, on the flat coastal plain inland from Savannah. On the map, the historic centre forms a small grid around the courthouse square, with major roads leaving it in several directions and residential streets, shopping areas and pine woodland spreading around it.
The town is home to Georgia Southern University, whose large campus of quads, sports facilities and wooded land occupies a significant part of the map. Statesboro is also known through music: Blind Willie McTell's song "Statesboro Blues" was later made famous by the Allman Brothers Band.
