Sūrandai is a town in Tenkasi district, in the far south of Tamil Nadu, on the plain that lies east of the Western Ghats. From above it is a compact grouping of residential streets and small lanes, with a denser centre and main roads leading outward, while the mountains rise not far to the west and set the direction of the landscape.
Like many towns in this part of Tamil Nadu, Sūrandai is surrounded by agricultural land, with fields, irrigation channels and small reservoirs fed by water from the hills. Roads connect it to Tenkasi and other nearby towns, forming a simple network across the plain. Within the town, the streets mix older, irregular lanes with newer, straighter extensions.
